I am completely, utterly pissed off at the moment...and it is directed at the Anniston Star, Alabama's Newspaper. There is a story that they wrote in regards to healthcare that specifically pointed out Port Wine Stains (one of the conditions which is a birthmark that DeVion has) as being "rediculous". Basically saying that it is a condition covered by states' insurances unneccesarily. I will leave the link below but I am adding the specific quote that pissed me and my online community of support groups off and I will explain why:

"One way of doing so is to get rid of health benefit mandates. These are the services states decree insurance providers must cover. They range from the reasonable — emergency services in Arkansas — to the ridiculous — port-wine stain birthmark elimination in Minnesota."

Why would this piss me off? Because DeVion has a port wine stain (pws)...which is one of the conditions associated with his primary disease KT Syndrome. The pws that was on his left hand was the reason why he had the infections and ultimately caused him to have the hand and lower part of his arm amputated a year ago. the PWS could have potentially killed him from the increasingly severe infections....does that sound "rediculous" to you? If insurance had not covered the many treatments for infections over the last seven years my son may not be here!! Yet the writers, named John R. Graham and Michael Ciamarra who wrote this article without doing some fact-checking on the importance of treating pws' seem to think medical coverage should not include this...LOOK AT MY SON AND TELL ME AGAIN THAT THIS TREATMENT IS "REDICULOUS" if you can't access my kids photos look at the album for because i care foundation (this IS a public blog and that is a public photo).

BY THE WAY...DEVION HAS A SECOND PWS ON HIS SIDE UNDER HIS ARMPIT THAT COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE PROBLEMS...I WILL OBVIOUSLY NEED MY INSURANCE TO COVER THIS.
